Colin Kaepernick Complained, Nike Nixed Release Of ‘Betsy Ross’ 4th Of July Sneaker

Nike has nixed the release of its ‘Betsy Ross’ 4th of July sneaker, because Colin Kaepernick complained about it. After images of the shoe were posted online, Kaepernick, a Nike endorser, contacted company officials saying that he and others felt the Betsy Ross flag, which is on the back of the shoe, is an offensive symbol because of its connection to an era of slavery.
